The Rubbish Gallery sink
This shallow sculptural basin was designed to be used in a commercial lavatory application where it's primarily used for light duty handwashing and vase filling, but variations of this design could be used for a prepsink or residental lavatory sink.
The points of light are fiber optics, powered by ambient light, and require no power source. Because the optics are run surface to surface and criss-cross in the concrete, passing your hand over the surface will make the points flicker and pluse.
This piece won an "Honorable Mention" in a national design competition conducted by Fu Tung Cheng, Concrete Exchange.
